Greetings from the loop! We have a lot of things to cover, so let’s get to it!
What did we do in November?
Well, let’s start with some simple organization work… Not very glamorous, but I am happy to report that all of the folks who have either created or contributed to various Moebius Adventures products or the blog over the last few years are now all talking together. That sounds like a simple thing, but communication has been lacking among the “collective” of folks who are helping me out. Now we have Vince, George, Keith, all our artists, and a few other folks all hanging out in one place.
The upshot of this is that we have had some fantastic collaborations going on behind the scenes. We have a ton of things going on now, including a pulp sci-fi version of Mazes & Perils that Vince is starting some work (pop over to his blog if you want to get a sneak peek). Work on the updated version of The Snake’s Heart has been ongoing… the draft is hovering about 5,000 words and I have already added a ton to it since then (even had a chance to play through a bit of it with a group, which was fun). And I’ve worked on two different holiday-themed adventures for M&P… one of which I’ll be running at my FLGS in a couple of weeks, so I’m excited about that!
In addition, we contributed some copies of Mazes & Perils Deluxe to an effort started by Alan Bahr of Gallant Knight Games for Veteran’s Day. I’m happy to say we had more than a dozen vets take advantage of the offer and I hope we can contribute in a bigger effort next year. Thank you veterans!
Beyond that, I had an opportunity to participate in the “Propping it Up” panel at AetherCon 2016 with Matt Finch (Swords & Wizardry & Frog God Games), Justin Andrew Mason (freelancer extraordinaire and pathstoadventure.com), and Devon Kelley of the Sharkbone podcast. We had a blast talking about a crazy number of ways we’ve all enhanced “ambiance” at the game table. We were all over the place and I look forward to sharing the YouTube link when it goes live!
And there are some other goodies I can’t quite mention yet. 🙂
As always, we also had a mess of posts on the blog…
- We had one of these posts talking about how we did in October…
- We covered a bit more of the Lost Age world… First I described a new set of locations I hope to explore in a new series of adventures – the City States of Blood! And brought up a bit about the mysterious “Serpent Queen” who appears in the “Snakes” adventures we’ve been working on.
- We had some fun detailing a few magic items… one covered three different items, another covered a single item in three different ways, and a third talked about three “potions of yore” that might offer you a few ideas…
- And if that’s not enough, we talked about some creatures of cold you might find in some of the frozen parts of the Lost Age world and I offered a few of the lessons I (re)learned while gaming with kids over the Thanksgiving holiday…
Oh, and did I mention that we have a new character sheet available for Mazes & Perils? This new sheet has a great new look and feel courtesy of B. Simon Smith and we even have a form-fillable version courtesy of George! So be sure to grab it for your game table.
So as you can see we’ve been busy!
What’s up next?
This month we have The Charlatan to set loose on the world. Though not quite as creepy as the Vile Witch, this guy definitely has a bit of a slimy reputation as a con artist. How much trouble will he get into in your campaign? That’s certainly up to you!
Beyond that, work is continuing on The Snake’s Heart and an update to Serpents Below for Mazes & Perils. I’m excited to get the new versions out in the world for folks to play with. New maps, a ton of additional content, and stats and rules for M&P. Plus they’ll each have a new cover and be available as a softcover. I wish we were moving a bit faster on them, but it’s slow going and we want to get it right, so we hope you’ll bear with us!
Are you interested in playtesting any of our adventures? I would love to get some additional feedback before these see the light of day… Drop us a line at the Contact page and let’s talk!
What about the traffic?
How’d we do this month?
- New site – 1060 page views, 751 unique visits, 637 first time visits, and 114 returning visits.
- Last month –728 page views, 513 unique visits, 443 first time visits, and 70 returning visits.
We actually had a nice bump in November, so thanks for stopping by! A good chunk of that was through sharing links through Google+, Twitter, and Facebook – so thank you to all of you who have stopped by and read a post here or there.
We’ll hope we can attract more folks back to the new Moebius Adventures store and our weekly blog content. But we’ll see!
As always, please feel free to share links to our content if you find them useful or interesting – that would help a ton!
And what about sales?
It was an interesting month sales-wise. We participated in the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales at the Open Gaming Store and DriveThru/RPGNow, but didn’t seem to get much traction. We were over 200 sales in October and dropped back down to 120+ in November. We’re sitting about 2400 downloads for the first 11 months of 2016 so far, which is better than 2015 but not quite as good as 2014. But we’re hopeful that it’s a nice upward trend for 2017. 🙂
Our top downloads were:
We appreciate each and every purchase and download, so thank you very much for your support! If you get a chance to leave a review at any of the stores where you purchased our products or directly via social media (Facebook is awesome!) or just drop us a note via our Contact page!
We’re still here! Thanks to all of you who visit the website and continue to buy our products, so thank you!
We hope your November was full of great gaming and your December is too!
